Fatherhood with Intention

Fatherhood today is about far more than just providing-it’s about presence, connection, and shaping future generations. In a fast-paced world that often favours short-term solutions, many fathers find themselves reacting to daily challenges rather than engaging with deeper

with deeper purpose. Yet research consistently shows that when dads are actively involved, children grow up more confident, resilient, and emotionally secure.

In this session, Itai Propetha – a clinical psychologist and proud parent – invites participants to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the bigger picture of fatherhood Drawing from psychological insights and everyday experience, he explores how fathers can move beyond outdated norms and parent with greater intention. What does it mean to show up with intention? How can dads balance emotional connection, boundaries, and responsibility?

Fatherhood with Intention is designed to honour the evolving role of dads in society and coincides meaningfully with Father’s Day in South Africa – offering an opportunity to celebrate, reflect, and reimagine what it truly means to be a modern father.
